Department of Economics | Participation in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Erasmus+ at the University Fachhochschule Dresden (FHD)

During the period from November 27 to December 1, 2023, the Department of Economics, University of Western Macedonia, participated in the Erasmus short-term mobility programme (Blended Intensive Programme, BIP) held at the University of Applied Sciences in Dresden, Germany, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Jan Endrikat. The Department participated in the BIP following the suggestion of the Erasmus+ Coordinator, Assistant Professor Melina Dritsaki.

Thirty-five students from five European Universities (BUEM Slovakia, Aspira Croatia, Ege University Turkey and Duvrovnik Croatia) participated in the BIP whose theme was entitled: “Market Analysis of Sustainable Business Concepts“. The students had the opportunity to attend lectures by professors and entrepreneurs and collaborate in mixed groups, to create and present the results of their research on market analysis for sustainable business models. The programme ended with an online meeting where the title of the best team was awarded.

The collaboration programme was attended by four final-year students from the Department of Economics as well as two faculty members. The Assistant Professors of the Department, Dr Melina Dritsaki and Dr Stavroula Laspita gave lectures and collaborated with the groups.

The Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) are funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and aim to further promote the scientific cooperation of the participating Universities. In this context, Inter-institutional agreements were signed to ensure future collaborations.
